Wabi Sabi Rice Paper Chandelier

A rounded rice paper shade softens the light to a low, even glow with no visible glare. The texture of the paper shows through once the two bulbs are lit, giving the piece its wabi sabi character.

Design and materials

The shade is rice paper, fitted to a polished chrome cord suspension that keeps the hardware minimal. It sits naturally in Japandi, minimalist, and warm neutral interiors built around natural materials.

Where it works

The 17.7 in and 19.7 in shades suit a bedside, a hallway, or a reading corner, while the 27.6 in version is sized for a dining table or a living room center. Hang it low over oak or walnut and keep the surrounding palette to linen, clay, and unfinished wood.
