Please read before installing any light fitting.

Hardwired fixtures

Chandeliers, pendants, ceiling lights, hardwired wall lights and ceiling fans connect to your home's wiring. They should be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician in line with your local electrical code.

Before installation

• Turn off power at the breaker, not just the wall switch.
• Check that the ceiling box and structure can support the fixture's weight. Heavy fixtures and ceiling fans may need a rated support box.
• Confirm the fixture's voltage matches your supply.
• Use bulbs that match the fixture's stated base and maximum wattage.

Bathrooms and outdoors

Wet and damp locations have specific requirements. Only install fixtures that are suitable for the location, and have them installed by a licensed electrician.

Plug-in lamps

Inspect cords before use, keep cords away from heat and walkways, and never exceed the lamp's maximum bulb wattage.
