Rounded Metal Dome Chandelier

A shallow saucer shaped dome hangs from a long cable, with the light source recessed inside the shade. The result is a wide pool of soft light below and no visible glare from across the room.

Design and materials

The shade is spun aluminum on an iron fitting, painted in black, white, gray, green, or brown so it can match or contrast the ceiling. The simple geometric form suits Nordic, modern, and mid-century leaning interiors.

Where it works

Covering 5 to 10 square meters, the 25 cm size suits a hallway or bedside and the 40 cm version a dining table or kitchen island. Hang two or three of the smaller domes in a line along a counter, and pick the green or brown finish where the room already carries natural tones.
