Stone Wood Surface Mounted Downlight

A compact surface-mounted downlight that pairs yellow cave stone with solid wood in a short cylinder just 10 cm across. The integrated 7W LED gives a focused warm pool of light, so it works as a no-main-light solution where several units are run in a line rather than relying on one central fixture. Its depth of only 6 cm keeps it close to the ceiling plane.

Design and materials

The body combines natural yellow cave stone with solid wood, finished in either log wood color or walnut color, with iron and PC components inside the housing. The stone surface carries its own visible texture and mineral variation, which gives the fixture a matte, tactile character rather than a glossy one. That restrained, imperfect surface is what places it in wabi-sabi, Japandi and cream-toned modern interiors. The round form is deliberately plain so the materials carry the interest.

Where it works

With 5-10 sq m of coverage per unit and a single 7W source, it is best used in multiples along a corridor, hallway or stair, or as accent lighting over a kitchen counter, balcony or bathroom vanity. In a bedroom or living room it suits layered schemes where ambient light comes from several small fixtures instead of one ceiling light. The log wood color keeps the fixture pale and close to the stone tone, while walnut color draws a stronger contrast against a white ceiling.
