Streamer Acrylic Ceiling Chandelier

A postmodern ceiling chandelier built from hollow acrylic streamers that curve around a central steel shade. The shades throw light upward as well as down, so the ceiling plane is lit along with the room.

Design and materials

Acrylic streamers are carried on a stainless steel shade with an iron finish, hot bent and mounted flush to the ceiling. The creative hollow geometry suits duplex living rooms, villas, stairwells and hotel halls where the fixture is meant to be looked at.

Where it works

The six and eight head versions suit a bedroom, study or dining room, while the eighteen and twenty-eight head versions hold a duplex living room or hotel hall. Keep the ceiling pale so the upward light has a surface to bounce from, and leave the piece unobstructed from below.
