Frosted Stone Dimmable Ceiling Downlight

A round surface-mounted downlight with a frosted stone face set into a wood body, designed to sit flush on the ceiling without a recess. It is dimmable from a knob switch on the fixture, so the single light source can be taken from full output down to a low glow without wiring in a separate dimmer. The LED is built in and the unit arrives self-contained.

Design and materials

Stone forms the light-emitting face with a frosted finish, which softens the output and hides the source behind an even surface. The surrounding body is wood, offered in log wood color or walnut color, left plain so the two natural materials carry the character. The quiet, unpolished pairing fits Japanese-influenced, wabi-sabi and warm minimalist interiors, where a glossy metal fixture would look out of place. The round form is deliberately simple and repeats well when more than one unit is fitted.

Where it works

At 3-5 sq m per unit this is a close-range fixture, so use it over a porch, in a balcony ceiling, along a corridor, or in groups across a living room where no single main light is wanted. Being dimmable makes it useful in a hallway or bedside position where you want low light at night and fuller output during the day. Log wood color keeps the frame pale and close in tone to the stone face; walnut color gives a darker ring that defines the fixture more clearly against a white ceiling.
