Wabi Sabi Paper Fan Chandelier

A wabi sabi chandelier built from pleated paper panels that open into a flower like fan. The shade is shadeless and directs light downward, so the paper itself diffuses the glow into a soft, even wash across the room.

Design and materials

Paper panels are set on a metal frame in a radial, flower shaped arrangement. The contemporary wabi sabi styling suits rooms built on natural textures and muted tones, and the pale paper reads as a sculptural form even when the light is off.

Where it works

The 23.6 in size suits a bedroom or balcony, while the larger widths hold their own over a dining table or in a living room, loft, or stairwell. Pair it with linen, pale timber, and plaster finishes, and leave space around it so the fan shape stays legible.
