Nordic White Shade Chandelier

A plain white shade hangs from a slim cord on a compact iron canopy. The opaque shade pushes light downward in a broad, even wash with no visible glare from the side.

Design and materials

The shade is molded white PVC paired with a plated iron canopy measuring 4.7 in across, and the cord can be shortened to suit the ceiling height. Its stripped back form reads equally well in Nordic, Japanese, and modern minimalist rooms.

Where it works

Suited to rooms of 5 to 20 square meters, it hangs well over a dining table, a kitchen bench, or beside a bed. Hang a row of two or three along an island, and keep the surrounding palette pale so the white shade blends rather than competes.
