Surface Mounted COB LED Downlight

A compact surface mounted COB downlight that needs no recess cut into the ceiling, so it suits concrete, beamed, or finished ceilings where a recessed fitting is not an option. The COB chip and lens give a controlled 60-degree beam rather than a diffuse spread, which makes it a directional light. Five wattages let you pick the output for the job instead of overlighting a small space.

Design and materials

The housing is die-cast aluminum with a lens, in a black, white, or combined white and black finish. Die-cast aluminum doubles as the heat sink, which is why the body is solid rather than a thin shell. The small cylindrical form is plain hardware, so it disappears in modern and minimalist interiors and works in runs without looking busy.

Where it works

Rated for 3–5 sq m, each unit covers a defined spot, so plan them in groups: a run over a kitchen counter, a line down a corridor, or several across a living room ceiling. A CRI above Ra85 means colors hold up reasonably well, which matters over a worktop or where artwork is lit. Choose the 7W or 9W versions for accent work and close spacing, the 15W or 18W where a single unit has to carry a larger area, and the dimmable variants if the lights will be on a compatible dimming circuit — note the fixed-output versions cannot be dimmed.
